Complete 1:200 scale model of a semi-submersible offshore drilling platform, produced from the engineering firm’s CAD data, with full paint and weathering finish, display case, and site layout labelling. Delivered for an executive boardroom display.
The Challenge
The platform model at 1:200 scale still measured over 800mm across, requiring our large-format FDM machines for the hull and deck structure, with SLA-produced detail components for the drilling derrick, crane assemblies, and accommodation block windows.
The Outcome
Delivered in 6 weeks from CAD data. The finished model is on permanent display in the engineering firm’s Sydney boardroom. The client subsequently commissioned a second model at 1:500 scale for a conference display.
