Not all resins are the same. Some are made for crisp detail, others for toughness, flexibility or heat resistance. Picking the wrong one can mean a beautiful part that cracks the first time it is stressed.

Matching resin to use

Standard resins capture the finest detail and suit display and presentation work. Tough and durable resins trade a little detail for impact resistance, which suits functional prototypes. Flexible resins bend and rebound, while heat-resistant grades hold their shape at higher temperatures.

There are also specialised resins for casting, dental and medical work where specific properties are required.
