Xmas Cube
Dozens of fine radiating fins fan out from a central core, casting dramatic shadows on your tree.
Most cube ornaments are just a cube. This one is a starburst hiding inside a cube: dozens of slim, evenly spaced fins fan out from a central hole, so a flat side reads as a tidy striped panel while a corner-on view opens into a full radiating sunburst. Turn it in your hand and it genuinely looks like a different object from every angle.
It is 3D printed in PLA+ with a smooth finish that keeps every fin edge sharp and the fanned pattern crisp, exactly the kind of fine repeating geometry this material handles best. The whole piece prints in one go with no supports to snap off and no assembly, just an integrated hole at the centre ready for string, wire or ribbon.
Hang it on the tree as a modern alternative to the usual round bauble, or leave it out year round as a small sculptural object on a shelf or windowsill, since the geometry is striking enough to earn its keep long after the decorations come down. It also happens to be a lovely showcase of parametric, generative design for anyone who appreciates the maths behind the form.
Printed to order in Australia and ready in a day or two. Go bold in a classic Traffic Red or Emerald Green for the tree, or keep it graphic in Matte White, Gold or Black for a piece that works well beyond December.
