Wavy Pen Holder

Some pen holders disappear into the desk clutter. This one does not. Every side of this barrel-shaped holder is covered in a raised, scale-like ripple pattern, rows of soft peaks and hollows that catch the light differently depending on where you are sitting. The rim follows the same wave, so instead of a flat cut edge you get a crown of gentle points running all the way around the opening. It is 3D printed in PLA+, which is what gives those dozens of tiny ripples their crisp, consistent shape, no two rows blur into the next, and the surface has a pleasant, almost ceramic hand feel rather than a plasticky one. Inside, there is plenty of room for a genuine desk crowd: we tested ours with a fountain pen, a highlighter, a felt tip and a full length pencil standing shoulder to shoulder, no toppling. It suits a studio desk, a reading nook or a kid's homework station just as easily as an office. Because the texture reads as sculptural rather than purely functional, it also works as a small stand alone piece on a shelf, holding paintbrushes, makeup brushes or a single stem of dried flowers when the pens are not in it.
