Skep Pendant Light
A honey toned woven shade in heat ready ABS, made to glow over dining tables and reading nooks.
Skeps are the old woven beehive baskets beekeepers used long before modern hives, and this pendant light borrows that same tight, over under basketweave for a shade that looks handwoven but is actually one seamless 3D printed piece. Look closely at the surface and you will see rows of little woven loops running in a continuous spiral, the kind of detail that would take a basket maker hours to weave by hand.
Ours is printed in a warm, sandy tan that reads like natural rattan on the shelf, then transforms once the bulb clicks on. Switch it on and the whole lattice lights up from the inside, every woven loop glowing gold against the darker gaps between them, exactly the mellow, honeyed light you want over a dinner table or a favourite armchair.
It is a single print in place piece, no supports, no gluing panels together, with a neat oval opening at the base that reveals the bulb and a narrow neck at the top that takes a standard E27 or E26 fitting. We print it in ABS rather than a softer plastic, because a shade wrapped this closely around a live bulb needs to hold its shape as it warms up, not just look good on day one.
Hang a single pendant over a reading chair, or run three or four at staggered heights above a kitchen island or dining table for that layered, glowing cluster look. Either way it is the kind of lighting that gets a comment from every dinner guest before they ask where they can get one.
