Rayo
A zigzag ridged vase for fresh flowers or dried stems, 3D printed in durable, damp ready PETG Basic.
Rayo means lightning in Spanish, and this vase earns the name honestly. A continuous zigzag ridge climbs the entire body in one unbroken run, catching the light along every angled edge the way a bolt splits the sky. It was designed as a parametric form in Rhino3D and Grasshopper, so every chevron lines up with the one before it, all the way from the wide rounded base to the slender neck at the top.
The shape does the heavy lifting here. A generous bulb of a body tapers into a narrow throat built for a single stem or a loose handful of dried grasses, so you get sculpture and function in the one object. Turn it under a lamp or in afternoon sun and the ridges throw hard, graphic shadows across whatever it is sitting on, which is half the reason people put it on a shelf in the first place.
We print Rayo in PETG Basic rather than a standard decorative filament, because a vase that actually holds flowers needs to handle water and the odd damp stem without softening. It is sturdy enough for daily use on a console table, sideboard or windowsill, and easy to wipe down if you knock over a stray drop.
Made to order, so pick a colour that suits your space, from crisp white to deep matte black to a botanical green or warm bronze that plays beautifully with the shadow lines. Either way, you are getting a piece that looks handmade because, in a very real sense, it is.
