Some sculptures show us who we are without showing a face at all. This seated figure curls forward with its knees drawn up, elbows braced against its thighs, and both hands cupped gently around a smooth, featureless head. It is the universal posture of getting lost in your own thoughts, and it works precisely because there is no face to read: you bring your own moment of quiet to it. Every surface of the figure carries a fine, hand-worked texture, somewhere between weathered stone and packed sand, that catches the light differently depending on where it sits.
