Malla | Wall Light
A basket-weave PETG shade that turns any bulb into a warm, dappled glow for hallways and bedrooms.
Malla means mesh in Spanish, and this wall light earns the name: a whole basket-weave shade printed as one continuous spiral, so the surface reads as woven fabric rather than plastic. Flip the switch and the knit pattern turns from a solid green disc into a glowing lattice of tiny dots and dashes.
Two sizes and two shade depths cover most walls and moods. The large disc runs 248mm across, the small one 209mm, and each comes in a deeper three-bulge profile (120mm deep) or a shallower two-bulge version (95mm deep) for tighter spaces. The base plate takes a standard E14 or E26/27 bulb, whichever fits your existing cords and fittings.
We print the shade in PETG rather than basic PLA, because this piece lives right next to a working light bulb and needs to handle that gentle heat over years of evenings, not just look good on day one. The same plastic gives the weave its soft, warm translucency when lit.
Hang it solo above a bed or console for a sculptural night light, or run two or three along a hallway for a rhythm of woven light and shadow. Either way, it is the kind of fitting that gets asked about at every dinner party.
