Iap Grapefruit Cocktail Table Light

Half a grapefruit, glowing from the inside out: that is the idea behind this two piece table lamp. A ribbed dome, sculpted like segmented citrus flesh, sits nested in a rounded green base shaped like the rind, so the whole piece reads unmistakably as fruit the moment you see it. The dome is 3D printed in PLA+, and the walls are thin enough that light passes straight through the vertical ribs. Drop a slim 60mm LED puck light into the base and switch it on: the segments light up in a soft, even glow, with each rib catching and scattering the warmth differently. It is built for cocktail hour. Set it in the middle of a bar cart, cluster a few along a mantelpiece, or let it sit on a nightstand as an easy, low glare night light.
