Meet the Silent Dude, a squat character vase with two heavy lidded eyes pressed into a ribbed front panel and a soft pucker of a mouth below. Its sides and crown are wrapped in a wavy, quilted texture, like a head of thick curls caught mid yawn, while the face itself is cut with fine vertical flutes running from brow to chin. Every ridge and curl comes straight off the print bed. We build the whole piece in PLA+, a strong, smooth finishing plastic that holds the wavy top texture and the fine vertical lines on the face without losing a single detail. The layer lines are not hidden, they are the point: look close and you can trace the printer's path around every curl. Open at the top, the Silent Dude works as a vase for dried stems, a planter for a small succulent, or a slightly odd home for your pens and paintbrushes. At roughly 166 by 142 by 120mm it sits comfortably on a desk, bookshelf or windowsill without taking over the space, and its sleepy expression never looks like it is judging your mess.
