David Purse
Michelangelo's David, Cupid and a Greek column wrapped around one matte PLA+ shelf-stealing bag.
Some objects earn their shelf space by being useful. The David Purse earns it by being unforgettable. Michelangelo's most famous face gazes out from one side, a goddess turns away in profile, Cupid draws his bow, and a tiny Ionic column props up the corner, all wrapped in swirling drapery that flows right up into the arched handle.
The whole piece is 3D printed in PLA+ as a single sculptural form, with a smooth matte finish that reads convincingly as carved marble until someone picks it up and discovers it weighs next to nothing. The fine details survive the process beautifully: the tight curls in David's hair, the bow string, the scrolls of the column capital.
At around 15 cm tall it is a genuinely useful size. Stand it on a bookshelf as pure sculpture, park it on the dressing table as a catch-all for brushes and hair ties, or slip a few dried stems inside and call it a vase. The handle means it moves rooms as often as you like.
Each purse is printed to order in Australia and checked over by hand before it leaves the workshop. Classic white is the gallery favourite, or ask for a marble, bone or gold finish to suit your shelf.
