David - Lamp
A PLA+ lamp built from stacked rings that glow from within, casting warm light across a familiar face.
Michelangelo's David has stared out from marble for over five centuries, but nobody has lit him from the inside before. This lamp deconstructs the sculpture's head into a tower of thin horizontal rings, each one held just far enough apart from the next to let warm light spill out sideways in glowing bands.
Every ring is 3D printed in PLA+, chosen for how cleanly it holds fine, stacked detail without warping or slumping under its own layers. The finish is left raw and tactile rather than sanded smooth, so you can see and feel each individual disc that makes up the face, a texture that catches the light beautifully once the bulb is on.
It sits happily on a sideboard, a bookshelf, or a desk in a room full of art books, somewhere it can throw its glow across the walls after dark. For anyone who loves classical sculpture or simply objects that do something a flat print cannot, it is a genuine conversation piece.
The sturdy black base houses a standard E27 fitting, so any E27 bulb will do (we recommend LED to keep heat well away from the plastic). Printed to order here in Australia and usually ready in a day or two, ready to plug in and glow.
