Some vases whisper. This one has texture you want to run your fingers over. Built as a tall cylinder, the surface is made from row after row of raised hexagonal facets, each one catching the light a little differently as you turn it, with the fine ridged layer lines of the print left visible on purpose. That faceted surface only really works because of how it is made. 3D printing lets us build a continuous wall of overlapping honeycomb bumps in one piece, a shape that would be slow and fiddly to carve or mould by hand. We print every vase in PLA+, which holds the sharp edges of each hexagon and keeps the finish smooth to the touch. Fill it with dried or faux stems for an instant table moment, stand pens and brushes in it on a desk, or let it sit alone on a shelf as a small sculptural object.
