Cruel Coral
A fluted red PETG vessel for party games and curious science fans alike.
Some cups just hold your drink. This one holds a secret. Cruel Coral takes the ancient Pythagorean cup trick and dresses it up as a blooming coral flower, with a fluted, petal edged rim and deep vertical ribs running down to a narrow fluted base.
Fill it slowly and it behaves exactly like a normal cup, right up until you cross a hidden line inside. Cross that line and the coral empties itself completely, no matter how carefully you pour, thanks to a siphon hidden in the very kind of column ancient Greek philosophers once used to teach a lesson about greed.
That is what makes it such a good party trick. Pass it around a table, take turns adding a small splash of water, and watch the tension build. Whoever tips it past the limit gets to wear the coral like a very wet hat while their friends laugh.
Printed in PETG Basic for a cup that can handle being filled and drained again and again without turning soft or soggy, Cruel Coral is finished raw straight off the printer for a slightly matte, tactile surface. It is a compact piece, roughly 10cm across the flared top, equally happy as a talking point on a shelf or as the star of your next game night. Made to order in Australia, with a few coral inspired colours to choose from.
