Capullo Vase

Some shapes just feel right in the hand, and the Capullo Vase is one of them. Its rounded, tapering body is modelled on an insect cocoon: soft curves wrapped in a single continuous swirl that loops and doubles back on itself like a fingerprint. Designed in Rhino 3D with Grasshopper, the whole form is one flowing parametric surface, nothing about it feels rigid or repeated. Every Capullo Vase is 3D printed in PLA+ and left with a raw matte finish, so you can feel every ridge of the swirl pattern under your fingers. Run a hand over the surface and it reads almost like a topographic map, dozens of looping channels stacked from base to opening, catching light differently depending on the angle you view it from.
