Every box of Christmas decorations has one bauble that steals the show, and this is its silhouette, blown right up to fill a wall. The design traces a classic ribbed ornament, from the little hanging loop at the top down through a dozen curved stripes that wrap around to form a perfect sphere, all cut from one flat panel. It is 3D printed in PLA+, just 2mm thin and about 195mm wide by 250mm tall, light enough to hang from a single hook or a strip of adhesive tape. Hang it in a window rather than on a wall and the gaps between the ribs earn their keep: daylight spills straight through the stripes, throwing a soft, bauble shaped shadow across the room as the sun moves. It works just as happily above the mantle, in a hallway, or propped in a shopfront window to catch the eye of everyone walking past. Bring a few home in different colours and build a little gallery of baubles marching across the wall, or keep it to one bold statement piece.
