OzFDM PA12-GF takes the toughness and chemical resistance of PA12 Nylon and adds glass fibre reinforcement for serious rigidity. The result is a stiffer, more dimensionally stable material that warps less and holds up structurally in situations where standard nylons would flex, sag or creep out of tolerance over time.

It is built for demanding functional work: brackets and housings that need to stay rigid under load, tooling and jigs that must hold precise dimensions run after run, automotive components exposed to vibration and heat, and other end-use parts where a plain nylon simply wouldn't be stiff enough. The glass fibre content is what gets it there, trading a little toughness for a meaningful gain in stiffness and dimensional accuracy, which is exactly the trade-off you want on parts where flex or creep would be a problem rather than an asset.

Because glass fibre is abrasive, a hardened nozzle is essential - running it through a standard brass nozzle will wear the orifice out of round in short order and quietly degrade your print quality over the life of the spool. Beyond that, treat it much like PA12: keep it dry, since nylons in general absorb moisture readily and print poorly once they have, and it will deliver strong layer adhesion and good thermal stability on a suitably equipped printer with a stable enclosure temperature to control warping on larger parts.

  • Glass fibre reinforced PA12 for improved stiffness
  • Reduced warping and strong dimensional stability
  • Good thermal stability and layer adhesion
  • Ideal for brackets, housings, tooling, automotive components, jigs, fixtures and end-use parts
  • Requires a hardened printing setup
  • Available in black and natural
