OzFDM PLA Wood mixes real wood fibres into PLA to produce a natural timber-like texture you can see and feel. Prints can be sanded, stained and finished much like the real thing, giving your models a warm, organic character that a plain plastic filament simply can't replicate.

Available in Light and Dark wood tones, it is a favourite for ornaments, figurines, picture frames, rustic decor and architectural models where a natural material look matters more than a glossy plastic finish. It also suits scale models and props built to look like carved or turned timber, since the surface texture reads convincingly as wood grain once printed at the right layer height.

The 1.75mm filament holds fine detail while keeping the easy handling of PLA, so there's no real learning curve to work through compared with a standard spool. Because it takes sanding and staining well, it's worth treating a finished print as a starting point rather than the end result: a light sand followed by a wood stain or oil finish will bring out the grain-like texture and deepen the timber effect considerably.
