OzFDM PET-CF is a high-performance engineering filament: PolyEthylene Terephthalate reinforced with carbon fibre, made from 90% PET and 10% carbon fibre. It combines excellent heat resistance up to 205°C with high stiffness and dimensional stability, sitting near the top of our range for parts that need to keep their geometry under both load and temperature.
It is built for demanding functional parts, from automotive and drone components to brackets, jigs and tooling that must hold their shape under load and temperature. The PET base also brings good chemical resistance to the mix, so it's a sensible pick for parts that will see contact with fuels, oils or cleaning agents in a workshop or automotive setting, on top of the mechanical demands the carbon fibre is there to handle.
For best results, anneal prints for 3 hours between 80°C and 100°C, which lets the material fully develop its heat resistance and dimensional stability rather than leaving it at the lower, unannealed baseline. Use a hardened nozzle throughout, as the abrasive carbon fibres will quickly wear a standard brass nozzle out of tolerance, and dry the filament before long prints since PET-based materials will pick up ambient moisture over time.
- Recommended nozzle: 260°C - 290°C
- Recommended bed: 70°C - 100°C
- 90% PET / 10% carbon fibre; heat resistant to 205°C
