OzFDM Polycarbonate is built for heat and strength. With a heat deflection temperature of 123°C, it stands up to conditions that would soften PLA or PETG, making it the material of choice for engineering parts, enclosures near heat sources and demanding functional components that need to keep their shape long after a lesser filament would have sagged.
PC is one of the toughest FDM materials around, combining impact resistance with rigidity, which is why it turns up in protective housings, load-bearing brackets, jigs and fixtures, and prototypes for parts destined to be injection-moulded in polycarbonate down the line. Its clarity in the Natural colourway also makes it a candidate for light covers and viewing windows where you need both toughness and some see-through quality.
It runs hot, so an all-metal hotend and an enclosed, heated chamber are recommended for best results - a draughty print area is one of the most common causes of warping and layer splitting with polycarbonate. Give the bed extra time to reach temperature before starting, and expect slightly slower, more deliberate prints than you'd run with PLA in exchange for a part that genuinely resists heat and impact. Available in Natural, Black and White.
