OzFDM PC-CF is polycarbonate reinforced with 10-12% short-strand carbon fibre (5-10 micrometre), engineered for precision parts that demand exceptional heat resistance and stiffness. Its heat deflection temperature of 125°C makes it one of our most thermally capable filaments, and the fibre loading pushes rigidity well beyond what plain polycarbonate can offer.
It is built for serious engineering work: tooling and fixtures that need to hold tight tolerances under repeated use, jigs that see mechanical load, and high-temperature functional components where dimensional stability under heat is non-negotiable. The refined matte finish that comes with the carbon fibre also makes it a practical choice where a professional, non-glossy surface matters as much as the mechanical properties underneath.
Print in an enclosure to manage the high chamber temperatures this material prefers, and fit a hardened nozzle before you start - the carbon fibre is abrasive enough to wear through a standard brass nozzle well before a spool is finished. As with any polycarbonate-based filament, keep it dry and expect to run a hotter first layer than PLA or PETG to get proper bed adhesion on a part this stiff.
- Nozzle temperature: 260-300°C (280°C recommended)
- Bed temperature: 100-120°C (110°C recommended)
- Print speed: 40-60mm/s (50mm/s recommended)
- Heat deflection temperature: 125°C
