OzFDM PA12-CF is a high-performance nylon built for the toughest jobs, made from 85% LUVOCOM 3F PAHT CF Nylon12 and 15% carbon fibre. The result is exceptional strength, stiffness and heat resistance in a lightweight, low-moisture package that still handles like a manageable engineering nylon rather than a specialty exotic.

It is aimed squarely at demanding engineering, automotive and industrial parts: think jigs and fixtures for a workshop floor, under-bonnet brackets and clips that see real heat cycling, drone and RC frames that need stiffness without excess mass, and load-bearing housings for tooling that has to survive day after day of use. Wherever a standard PLA or PETG part would sag, creep or crack under sustained mechanical or thermal load, PA12-CF's carbon-fibre backbone is designed to hold its shape.

For peak mechanical performance, anneal finished prints for around 3 hours at 80-100°C once they come off the bed - this relieves internal stress and lets the nylon crystallise more fully, noticeably improving strength and heat resistance over an unannealed part. A hardened nozzle is essential for this abrasive carbon-filled material, since the fibres will chew through a standard brass nozzle in a fraction of the print time. Because nylon is hygroscopic, keep the spool sealed with desiccant between sessions and dry it before printing if it has been sitting out, as damp filament will bubble, string and lose strength.

  • Nozzle temperature: 260-280°C (270°C recommended)
  • Bed temperature: 60-90°C (80°C recommended)
  • Print speed: 40-60mm/s (50mm/s recommended)
  • 1KG spool, 1.75mm diameter
