OzFDM ASA Chameleon pairs the rugged, weatherproof performance of ASA engineering plastic with a colour-shifting finish that flows between hues as the light and angle change. It is a showpiece material that still holds up to real-world use, rather than a purely decorative filament that fades or degrades outdoors.

It comes into its own on display pieces, car and helmet accessories, cosplay props, and any outdoor or well-lit object where you want people to stop and look twice; a colour shift that only reveals itself as you move around the piece is hard to achieve with a painted finish and holds up far better outdoors over time than paint or vinyl wrap. Larger, smoother surfaces tend to show the colour travel most clearly, so it is worth orienting a model to present its broadest faces to the viewer.

Built on high-grade acrylonitrile styrene acrylate, it delivers strong UV resistance, high impact strength and durability, making it well suited to outdoor and long-life parts rather than purely indoor display pieces. Five multi-tone shades are available; print in an enclosed, well-ventilated space for best results, the same setup you would use for standard ASA, and allow the chamber to stabilise before starting a tall or wide model to keep the surface consistent from base to top.
