OzFDM ABS-FR is a flame-retardant grade of ABS, formulated for applications where fire safety matters. It carries the strength, rigidity and heat tolerance ABS is known for while adding self-extinguishing behaviour to the mix, so a part is less likely to keep burning if it is exposed to a flame or an overheating component.

That makes it the material to reach for on electrical enclosures, junction boxes, switch housings and other industrial components that need to meet stricter fire-safety requirements than a general-purpose plastic can offer, particularly where a part sits close to wiring, connectors or anything that generates heat in normal use. It is also a sensible choice for prototypes and small production runs destined for environments with formal fire-safety compliance requirements.

Available in Natural and Black, it suits electrical housings, enclosures and industrial components that need to meet stricter safety requirements. Like all ABS, it prints best in an enclosed, heated chamber to control warping, so give the chamber time to stabilise before starting a large or tall part and keep draughts away from the build area.
