ABS-ESD is a specialised engineering-grade filament for any print that needs to protect sensitive electronics from static discharge. It pairs the strength, heat resistance and durability you expect from ABS with reliable ESD-safe properties, so parts help dissipate static charge rather than letting it build up and potentially damage whatever they're protecting.

That combination makes it a natural fit for electronic housings and enclosures, jigs and fixtures used around circuit boards, tooling for an electronics workbench or production line, and any component that needs to sit near delicate circuitry without becoming a static risk itself. Expect strong layer adhesion and good dimensional stability, so parts hold their shape and keep working under repeated handling rather than degrading after a few uses.

Like standard ABS, it benefits from a warmer, more controlled printing environment: an enclosed printer or at least a shielded print area will help prevent warping and layer separation, and a heated bed is close to essential for keeping the first layers stuck down. Print in a well-ventilated space, since ABS fumes are best not breathed in over long print sessions, and check your slicer's ABS-ESD or ABS profile as a starting point rather than assuming PLA settings will do.
